Awards (APICTA)
In November 2002 GecOz won the Research and Development award of
the annual Asia-Pacific Australia ICT Awards for it's salinity mapping
product, SaltSAR. The press release explains: "GecOz Pty Ltd,
a small Darwin based company has invented a process for detecting
soil salinity using a radar system flown kilometers above the earth.
This invention provides farmers, land carers and environmentalists
with high quality RADARMAPs in a fraction of the time and at a fraction
of the cost of previous methods." 2003 GecOz will represent
Australia in the R and D category of the Asia-Pacific ICT Awards.
Telstra Business Woman Awards
Renee Bartolo, Chair and Director of GecOz won the AusIndustry sponsored
"Commonwealth Government Private and Corporate Sector Award"
at the 2002 Telstra Northern Territory Business Women’s Awards.
The awards luncheon was held at the MGM Grand in Darwin on Tuesday
17th September. Renee was also a finalist in the Alcatel sponsored
"Young Business Women's Award".
Renee also represented the NT at the 2002 National Telstra Business
Woman Awards held in Brisbane on 18th October.
Australian Information Industry Association (AIIA) - iAwards
2001
In October 2001 GecOz won the Australian Information Industry
Associations (AIIA) iAwards for Innovation in IT Services. The award
was given to GecOz in recognition of its salinity mapping technology
- SaltSAR.
